Arkansas Cooperative Extension System
Extension agents and specialists have worked to improve the lives of Arkansans for over 100 years! We are part of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture and are located in all 75 counties.
What does the Arkansas Extension Service do?
Our county agents take the researched recommendations from our specialists and give you practical advice to improve your life. Our mission is to strengthen agriculture, communities, and families by connecting trusted research to the adoption of best practices.
We make the research work for YOU. We use the results of scientific research, much of it conducted at the University of Arkansas system colleges and our research stations, to help you improve your life and your community. We're basically a go-between between you and the scientists. We take the guesswork out of the research and present the science-based techniques to you in a way that's helpful in YOUR life.
Our programs include local gardening volunteer projects with clients such as the AR State Hospital. The garden was a patient rehab project created with help from Pulaski County agent Randy Forst and the LR Master Gardener club.
Extension educational programs touch all segments of our society and address a wide range of needs in both urban and rural areas.
